Summer Break 2008
Loway's offices will be closed during the Summer Break, that will be from July 5th to July 20th, 2008. We will do no custom developement during this period and all calls will go to voicemail. :)
We will be only running a support line by email for getting temporary licences, general commercial questions and technical support for installation and running systems. See Contact us page for email details.
Also, the QueueMetrics forums will stay open for self-support, so you can post your questions and problems.
2008-06-07:
Beta release of queueDial substitute
In order to track outbound calls in QueueMetrics, the queueDial.agi script was needed. This was complex for first-time users to set up, it was slow as a new process had to be forked for every call made and was complex to debug. Outbound calls would with invalid connection times on the realtime screen. Also, this caused a number of problems with Asterisk 1.4 and newer versions.

We decided to replace the queueDial.agi completely with a pure-scripting solution; this is still experimental but is being used in a number of call-centers worldwide and it seems to work just fine. It addresses all problems that plagued the old AGI script and was built from the start to be easy to configure.

Though it will be released officially with QM 1.4.5, beta code is available on the forums. We thank in advance all QM users who will want to run a test of the new code and report any problems they come across.

New QueueMetrics price list
We have released a new price list for QueueMetrics that will take care of the new clustering feature available. The old price list was over three years old, so it was time to update it.

The new offer adds a new 100-agent size that is meant to be a cheaper alternative for call centers over 50 agents who would have previously bought an unlimited licence. It also adds the new clustering licences for larger call-centers.

We added "Priority Support" as a purchaseable option, making it possible to have a priority-level support line available directly from us.

We also changed the way licence upgrade prices are calculated; their price will be lower if the licence being upgraded has closer expiration date.

You can find the new price list on the Licence Page.

The tutorial is called "Understading MySQL storage and clustering" and is immediately available for download on the downloads page, under "Misc Documentation" by the bottom of the page.

Turning TrixBox into a small call center with QueueMetrics
After the good success of our first tutorial that explained how to set up QueueMetrics for TrixBox 1.0, we have prepared an upgraded version for TrixBox verion 2 and QueueMetrics 1.4.

This tutorial makes it much easier than with version 1.x to set up QueueMetrics under TrixBox, minimizes manual file editing and shows how to set up the most advanced fetaures of QueueMetrics, i.e. agents logging on and pausing from the GUI, marking of call outcomes and pause status codes, and Manager API realtime monitoring.

Whether you run a full-fledged commercial call-center, or would simply gather some stats for an internal support line, the new tutorial is definitely worth looking at!

You can find the new tutorial on the downloads page under "TrixBox / FreePBX documentation", by the bottom of the page.

Usa/Canada DST problems
A number of users are reporting problems with QueueMetrics being one hour off after DST came into effect into the USA on March 11, 2007. This is caused by problems with the Java VM running QueueMetrics.

WHICH USERS ARE AFFECTED?
This problem may be affecting you if your company, your servers or your call centers are located in either USA, Canada or another country or region which sets DST according to USA standards.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM AFFECTED?
You will notice that since March 11 your QueueMetrics reports seem to be one hour off. You may also notice problems in the realtime pages.
This problem does not seem to affect everyone living in involved regions, likely because of the different JVMs used to run QueueMetrics and/or the way the clock is set on the server (as local time versus GMT).

We have created a forum topic to suggest a solution and keep you posted of how the problem is being addressed. You will find it at http://forum.queuemetrics.com/index.php?topic=10.0.

Please keep us posted if you encounter this problem or not, which versions of Java you are running and if you installed QueueMetrics manually or using yum.
